Frequently Asked Questions about online Registration
How do you ensure that my credit card information will remain secure?
ACT does not send your credit card information by email. It is encrypted and stored on our web server. ACT uses a 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) in our website, the industry standard for secure online transactions, which protects the integrity with encrypted links between our web server and your browser. Your credit card information will be deleted as soon as the transaction is completed and will not remain on the server.
Can I register for more than one workshop at a time?
No, you will have to complete the process for each workshop you register for; but you do not need to log-in again. You can register for another workshop during the same log-in session.
If I wish to register using a special/discount rate, can I do this online?
No, you will need to telephone or fax in your registration form when you are:
registering 3 or more people for a 20% discount.
registering both parents for events where the second parent pays 50%.
when you have received a bursary.
when MCFD is paying for your registration directly using autism funding.
How will I know that I am registered for the workshop?
After you receive the email acknowledgement that we have received your registration, you will receive a second email confirming you are registered within 2-3 business days.
If you do not receive any emails following your on-line registration, email us at info@actcommunity.net or call us at 604.205.5467; toll free at 1.866.939.5188. You may also want to check the junk email folder on your computer in case the email has been filtered to your junk email by mistake.
How do I change a mistake in my registration information, (i.e, workshop name, location, pricing)
Send us an email, give us a call at info@actcommunity.net, or call us at 604.205.5467; toll free at 1.866.939.5188.
What if I’m not sure of my parental/ para-professional/professional designation, how do I choose the correct pricing?
Please call or email and we can clarify for you.
Can I register online and then send in payment later (i.e. by cheque)?
Unfortunately we can only guarantee that you have a place at a workshop when we have your payment – we must receive payment and registration at the
same time.
Will my early bird registration still count if I register after business hours on the day of the deadline?
Yes, it will work until midnight, Pacific Time of the day of the deadline.
What if the workshop fills up after office hours, will my online registration count?
Workshop registrations will be processed on a first come first serve basis. If there was a space available at the time you registered your registration will
be accepted.
I don’t like to give out my email address, must I provide it when registering?
We do need to have your email address in order to inform you that you are registered but we will use this information only for the purpose of this event. You will not receive emails on other topics from ACT unless you have expressly given your permission.
Can I cancel my registration online?
No, you cannot cancel your registration online or by email. Please contact ACT by telephone in order to cancel your registration.
ACT’s cancellation policy is available at www.actcommunity.net/workshops_and_training/cancellationPolicy.htm.
What are the Workshop IDs that I frequently see on the registration page?
Workshop IDs differentiate between the workshops that are available – each is unique. Workshops that have the same name but take place in different locations will have different Workshop IDs.
I can’t remember my USER ID and/or PASSWORD. What do I do?
If you have forgotten your User ID and Password, please contact ACT. We will provide you with new log-in information, including a temporary password that you can change. For security purposes, this information will be sent to you by email using the original email address you have entered in creating your original account.
What happens to my registration if my computer locks up while completing a workshop registration on line?
You will be able to check you registration by logging in again and seeing whether your registration was completed.
I’ve entered my log-in information but I am receiving a message “Your log-in attempt was not successful. Please try again.”
Receiving this message probably means you have entered the wrong User ID and/or Password. Please contact ACT to retrieve your log-in information.
If you are certain that you have entered the correct User ID and Password, but you are still receiving the message, this means that the system has automatically locked your log-in attempts. This happens if you enter the incorrect password more than three times. When this happens, please contact ACT so we can provide you with new log-in information.
