Important Information for Parents Using Out-of-Province Providers
Dear Parents of Children under Six,
ACT is trying to finish the long process of updating the files of all the professionals on the Qualified Service Providers List. Some agencies based outside of British Columbia have been particularly difficult to contact. In some cases we have made contact but the information from them has not
been forthcoming.
I am sending the following agencies a final letter requiring them to submit applications for their professionals who consult to families in BC. If we have not received documentation by December 15th, 2005, we will remove them from the QSP List until we receive their applications, resumes, criminal record checks and copies of their degrees.
If you are receiving services from behaviour consultants associated with these agencies, you may want to let them know that their attention to this matter is important. Unless a behaviour consultant is on the QSP List, families cannot be reimbursed by MCFD Autism Funding Program.
The agencies are:
- Autism Partnership and Behaviour
- Bancroft Neuro Health Hopkins
- CSAAC (Community Services for Autistic Adults and Children)
- Early Educational Centre for Autism
- Lovaas Institute for Early Intervention
- May Center
Thank you for your help in this matter.
