Funding Increases for Microboards
April 12, 2007

If you currently have funding from CLBC for your microboard, you should have received a letter from CLBC informing you of a 3.2% increase in your overall dollars starting April 1, 2007. This is for microboards that have not received previous adjustments (meaning cost of living increases, union negotiated increases, etc.). CLBC will also be providing an additional one time payment of 1.6% of actual funding provided during this current fiscal year, as long as your microboard had a contract in place as of February 27, 2007.

If you have not received a letter outlining this information, please call your local Quality Assurance office at your earliest convenience to ensure you are on the list for the increases. I have checked
with a local Quality Assurance office to clarify how this funding can be used. It is our understanding, based on that call, the funds are to be used at your discretion, as long as the expenditures are allowable costs within your contract. This is to reflect that there have been a number of pressures due to increased costs for staffing, housing, food, etc. However, it is noted that wages will likely be a priority for most microboards.

It is going to take a while for the individual offices to update the contracts so you may not see the funds for a few months. And again, if you have not received a letter regarding this, please contact your local office as soon as possible.

Linda Perry,
