Updating video playback and access
by Amy - Thursday, 3 May 2012, 02:19 PM
We're making some changes to how we store and share our videos. Our goals are to make them stream securely and to change the layout to make them more easily browseable by you. You'll notice two major changes:

Videos can now only be viewed in the Chrome browser. We know this means downloading a new browser for some of your, but we needed to keep the videos non-downloadable for privacy reasons, and have them require a login for our own accessibility reasons.

Each video "section" (generally there are four sections) are now in a different sub-menu. This should make it easier for you to view the section of video that you are interested, and means that we can more clearly define for you what is of interest in each section.

If you have any questions, please let us know!

Do you watch our online videos?
by Amy - Tuesday, 15 November 2011, 02:33 PM
We are investigating how people are watching our online videos.

Please take a moment and share your experiences with the online videos. You can do so in one of three ways:

1. Fill out this online form (all replies using the form are anonymous).

2. Email your responses to the questions below to support@actcommunity.net

3. Respond to this posting with your answers to the questions below:

Question 1. Why did you choose to subscribe to an online video?
Question 2. If supplemental materials were available (for example, for the Art of Advocacy), how did you use those materials (did you read, download or skip them?)
Question 3. How do you organize your viewing time?
Question 4. How did it change your practice/ did you try something new as a result?
Question 5. Did it help you more fully understand something you’d previously observed or thought about?

Thank you! We're still learning and figuring out how best to support a wider range of parents, professionals, para-professionals and self-advocates, and your feedback in invaluable.

by Amy - Tuesday, 1 November 2011, 02:56 PM
Have you heard of Autistics Speaking Day? What do you think such a day might contribute to awareness and acceptance of autism? I've posted in the Community Forums above, in the ASD in the News thread. Read up on it and share your stories.
