We welcome donations to ACT to support our ongoing work in building a strong training, information and support system for families of children with ASD and those who work with them. In particular, we are seeking donations to the Training Bursary Fund which provides subsidies to low-income parents and para-professionals who wish to register for our workshops. These workshops are financed by the fees from registrants and are run on a break-even basis. In the case of out-of-country speakers, they can be very expensive.
We welcome donations by telephone using Visa or MasterCard, as well as cheques mailed to:
240 – 2250 Boundary Road, Burnaby, BC V5M 3Z3. For donations over $10 a tax receipt is provided to you.
For more information on ACT’s work and how you or your company can support it, you are welcome to contact our Executive Director, Clair Schuman at 604-205-5467 or at cschuman@actcommunity.net.
What's this? ACT has joined CanadaHelps.Org. They're a Canadian registered charity created to give other registered charities, like us, an affordable and efficient way to receive donations made online. CanadaHelps issues your tax receipt right away, and promptly forwards your donation to the charity or charities you indicate, less a 3% fee to cover their costs. If you'd like to add a message to us along with your gift (for instance to make a donation in memory of a friend or loved one) or wish us to acknowlege your gift either on our website or by mail (to you or the family of the person you're remembering) they will send us whatever information you provide.
For ACT, this is a savings in staff time and transaction fees, and for you (the donor) it can be a good way to centralise some or all of your giving--you can direct your donation to the charities you support while reducing the number of receipts you have to keep track of. For further information about CanadaHelps, including their privacy policy, visit the CanadaHelps.Org FAQ.
So if this website or ACT's services have been of help to you or someone you know, and you'd like to acknowlege that by making a donation to help us keep going, by all means consider using the CanadaHelps.Org click-through button.
